Dear Healthcare Justice Activist,
We need your help. As you know, our mission is to establish a sustainable, secure, and just healthcare system through education, mobilization, and advocacy within the labor movement and beyond. We are uniquely positioned to carry that out within the Healthy California campaign by actively engaging union leaders, staff, and members in moving California's single payer bill – SB 562, the Healthy California Act – forward so that everyone in the state has guaranteed healthcare.
With the resources of so many of our affiliated unions increasingly focused on fighting back against the attacks by the current Administration, we are relying on the financial contributions of individuals – you! -- to help us carry out our mission. You can support our work by joining Labor United for Universal Healthcare as an individual member for as little as a one-time donation of $25. If you would like to give more or on a recurring basis, we welcome and appreciate your generosity.
As part of the Healthy California campaign, our upcoming work includes facilitating meetings of labor leaders to talk about what SB 562 means for their specific unions, as well as organizing a series of labor town halls as forums for union members to learn about and discuss what the bill means for workers and their families.
As we gear up for the work ahead of us, we need your support now more than ever. As a non-profit organization, we rely solely on the financial contributions of organizations and individuals who share our belief that healthcare is a fundamental human right.
In Solidarity,
Leslie Simon (IATSE Local 871) and Kerry Woods (CSEA)
