We still have a long way to go toward achieving a U.S. healthcare system that guarantees dignity and equality to all. Medicare, a proven single payer system, is a model to eliminate the disparities and inequalities in healthcare that continue to plague our country and economy. We can finish the job by expanding Medicare to everyone!
Today, the fight for dignity and respect continues. It involves voting rights, overcoming Islamophobia, and rejecting the scapegoating of immigrants. Today, a new generation of freedom fighters chant "Black Lives Matter" and Dreamers courageously stand up for legal status, the fight for a $15 minimum wage, and just healthcare for all.
