As part of our annual Martin Luther King Day Campaign, Labor United for Universal Healthcare developed the 2014 Martin Luther King (MLK) flyer (bilingual).
The implementation of the Affordable Care Act is one of the most historic events of our time. We applaud President Obama for his vision, but we know the ACA falls short on achieving a sustainable, secure, and just healthcare system for all.
Many of the inequities in healthcare that Dr .Martin Luther King identified continue today. Disparity in healthcare quality, cost and access will not be corrected through the ACA. Millions still find health insurance unaffordable. Healthcare is a human right and we are committed to achieving healthcare which is secure, sustainable, and just for all. The ACA is a good first step, but now we must FINISH the JOB and make healthcare a right for all.
