Walmart Wages Hurt America

On Thursday, November 7,  hundreds of protesters participated in the largest non violent  civil disobedience against Walmart.  Over fifty people were arrested as they blocked the Cesar Chavez Boulevard in front of the new Walmart Chinatown store.  "Walmart Wages Hurt America" was the rallying cry.  Walmart is America's largest low-wage private-sector employer and as such, significant numbers of their employees are forced to seek government assistance  to feed their families or obtain healthcare.  This occurs as Walmart continues to accrue massive profits.
