Healthcare is a Human Right

Our country is at a crossroads. There is talk of repealing the Affordable Care Act, gutting Medicare, and cutting back on Medicaid – which will hurt the most vulnerable among us: immigrants, low-wage workers, people of color. Will we move backwards or go forward?

We believe that we need to protect, improve, and expand on the healthcare gains we have made in California and nationally. The ACA brought important changes, but we must finish the job. The majority of Americans support a healthcare system modeled on Medicare. We believe that guaranteed healthcare is a fundamental human right and that no one should be without the healthcare they need.

Supporting a sustainable, secure, and just healthcare system has never been more critical. We must finish the job and eliminate injustice in healthcare.

Join us! Labor United for Universal Healthcare and Campaign for a Healthy California’s monthly meetings are on the first Thursday at 10 am and 12:30 pm, respectively, at the L.A. County Federation of Labor, 2130 James M. Wood Boulevard, Los Angeles.
